Phase 3 Data Recovery Mitigation
Grandview Estates Subdivision Site
Town of New Hampton, Orange County, New York
HVCRC completed a Phase 3 Data Recovery investigation for a proposed residential development in the Town of New Hampton, Orange County, New York. The project examined three previously identified precontact period archaeological sites that were considered to be eligible for listing on the National Register. The materials recovered from the site dated the occupation from the Archaic period to the Woodland Period. The information recovered from the site contributed to a regional assessment of the Archaeological sites in the Black Dirt Region. Materials were curated at the New York State Museum for further reference and research. the Late Archaic to Woodland Period had been recovered during the Phase 1B Archaeological Survey.
Phase 2 Archaeological Investigation
Lafayette Drive Project, Town of New Windsor, Orange County, New York
Hudson Valley Cultural Resource Consultants completed a Phase 2 Archaeological Investigation for a proposed residential development in the Town of New Windsor Orange County, New York The project examined a ten acre parcel located on the western bank of the Hudson River, where diagnostic material dating to from the Late Archaic to Woodland Period had been recovered during the Phase 1B Archaeological Survey. The investigations identified the location of special use camp, that was a satellite location for larger occupation sites within the region. Based on the level is site disturbance, the Lafayette Drive site was not considered to be eligible for the National Register.
